JEDDAH — The Consulate Officers team beat the Tabung Haji team to clinch the Second Inter-Agency Ping Pong Tournament organized at the Consulate General of Malaysia here recently.

The Officers team, captained by Consul General Mohammad Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak, beat Tabung Haji following a grueling three-hour competition of superb power serving, strokes and smashing.

The Consulate Staffs team finished third, ahead of Trade and Tourism Office players.

The Consulate had organized the event in close collaboration with the Consulate Sports and Welfare Club. It provided the consulate staff an ample opportunity to enjoy the recreational activity in a spirit of sportsmanship and portray the close esprit de corps and camaraderie among the participating teams.

Each team had seven players and they played two singles and two doubles. The preliminaries were held on Nov 21, while finals were played on Dec. 3.  The consul general presented trophies to the winners. The event concluded with refreshments.
