WORKING VISIT OF THE MINISTER OF DEFENCE OF MALAYSIA TO SAUDI
JEDDAH – YB. Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, Defence Minister of Malaysia undertook a three days Working Visit to Riyadh, Madinah and Mekah. During the visit, YB. Datuk Seri met with the Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohmmed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense, Chief of the Royal Court and Special Adviser to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
During the meetings, they discussed bilateral relations and areas of military cooperation between the two countries. Datuk Seri stated that Malaysia would liaise closely with Saudi Arabia to monitor situation in Yemen especially for humanitarian issues and the evacuation of Malaysian nationals from that country.
The Minister later visited Madinah and then to Mekah as to perform Umrah. The Consul General, Mr. Mohd Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak met briefly with YB. Datuk Seri at the Royal Pavilion Jeddah before his departure back to Kuala Lumpur on 18 April 2015.
