MALAYSIAN TECHNICAL COOPERATION PROGRAMME (MTCP) ALUMNI RECEPTION ON 24 SEPTEMBER 2020
On 24 September 2020, H.E. Mohamad Razdan Jamil, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of the Sudan hosted a reception for the alumnus of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP). The reception was held at the Multi-purpose Hall, PETRONAS Sudan Complex and was attended by 60 MTCP Alumnus, mostly officials from various government ministries, agencies as well as the private sector.
In his opening remarks, H.E. Ambassador Razdan conveyed his utmost appreciation to the alumnus for taking the time from their heavy commitments to join the reception. He was also delighted to note that over 40 new registrations to join the alumni was recorded since 2019 bring the total to almost 160 alumnus. During last year’s reception, H.E. Ambassador had mooted the idea for the alumnus to establish an MTCP Alumni Association that would enable them to exchange views and contribute for the betterment of Sudan. H.E. Ambassador highlighted that the association could be registered once it is ready so that it can be utilize for the benefit of all MTCP alumnus. For this association to be successful, the committee needed to develop a clear vision, mission and objectives and subsequently to draft its constitution.
In moving this agenda forward, it was welcoming to see that two alumnus presented the roadmap to form the association as well as to have a glimpse at the draft MTCP Alumni Association constitution. The presentations were made by Mr. Omer Abdel Razag, Engineering/Researcher Advanced Electronics Division, Researches Engineering Industries Department, Industrial Research and Consultancy Centre (IRCC) and Ms. Balges Abdallah Ibrahim Agriculture Engineer, Ministry of Animal Resources.
The Embassy hopes that the networking of all MTCP recipients will help foster closer and more fruitful Malaysia-Sudan bilateral relations in line with the philosophy behind the MTCP known as “Prosper-thy-Neighbour” where Malaysia would like to see her neighbours or other developing countries to share technical know-how, experiences and best practices for mutual benefit.
The reception concluded with the guests enjoying an array of Malaysian delicacies prepared by the Ladies Association of the Embassy.
