Visit to the Home for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Pancevo

Our Chargé d’Affaires, PERWAKILAN Belgrade and the team from the Embassy of Malaysia visited the Home for the Blind and Visually Impaired Persons "Zbrinjavanje" in Pančevo. With its 110 residents and 60 members of caretaker staff, the "Zbrinjavanje" Home is the only institution of its kind in the Republic of Serbia.

Mr Miloš Đorđević, Acting Director, received the Embassy’s team and gave a guided tour of the Home. The tour presented the opportunity to meet the Home’s residents and staff, who were very warm, friendly and showed great interest in interaction with the Embassy’s team.

On the occasion of the visit, the Embassy brought a lunch to share it with the Home’s residents and staff – a Malaysian specialty Mee Goreng Mamak. The Embassy also handed over the donation of equipment from the proceeds of the Embassy’s recent participation in the CorD Charity Masters Humanitarian Run.

The Embassy has a long-standing relation with the Home, as two of the housing units were built with the financial assistance from the Embassy’s charity fundraising in 2008.

The Embassy wishes to thank once again the Home’s management and staff for the exceptional hospitality extended during the visit and is looking forward to continue this successful cooperation in future as well.
