As part of the Embassy’s collaboration with the Rotaract Club Dedinje, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy, Mrs. Carmallia Budiaty Che Embi, and her team held an interactive presentation on Malaysia for the student members of the club operating under Rotary Serbia. The presentation, held on Thursday, 27 February 2025, was attended by more than 30 members of the Rotaract Club from Belgrade and Novi Sad.

 

The introductory part of the presentation offered the students an informative insight into Malaysia’s historical background, tradition, society, and culture, as well as Malaysia’s political system, foreign policy, and economy. The students also had the opportunity to learn about Malaysia’s international cooperation initiatives, followed by a detailed presentation on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in conjunction with Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2025.

 

The lively Q&A session that followed highlighted the high engagement and interest of the students in Malaysia and ASEAN, particularly in the areas of economic and regional cooperation dynamics. The event ended on a high note with interactive quizzes on Malaysia and ASEAN, followed by an award ceremony for the quiz winners and a sampling of Malaysian popular culinary delicacies prepared especially for this occasion by the Embassy’s staff.
