The Embassy of Malaysia in Stockholm organized ´Majlis Ramah Mesra´ under the Program Mendampingi Rakyat Malaysia (PMRM) on Saturday, 9 November 2013 from 3.00pm to 5.00pm at the Chancery Building, Embassy of Malaysia, Stockholm. The function was hosted by H.E. Dato´ Badruddin Ab. Rahman, Ambassador of Malaysia to Sweden.

 

The Majlis Ramah Mesra was part of the Embassy´s outreach programme with Malaysians, including Malaysian students, in Sweden for the year 2013. The programme included welcoming remarks by H.E. Ambassador, introductory speech by representative of the Swedish-Malaysia Association (SMA) in Stockholm, a photo session, refreshment and mingling session among officers of the Embassy and guests. Approximately 100 Malaysians attended the function.  Apart from the dishes that were prepared by the Embassy, the Malaysians also brought food by pot-luck for sharing in the spirit of 1Malaysia.

 

In his speech, H.E. Ambassador among others, highlighted the audience on Malaysia´s Government policies, including the Government Transformation Programme (GTP), Government Economic Transformation Programme (ETP), Budget 2014, Talent Corp and other Government´s initiatives in achieving Vision 2020. H.E. Ambassador also informed that apart from the Majlis Ramah Mesra under the PMRM programme, the Embassy continuously organized out-reach activities with Malaysians, including Malaysian students in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland such as through games activities of bowling and ping pong, celebration of festivities and activities jointly organized by ASEAN Embassies in Stockholm.

The Majlis Ramah Mesra has further strengthened the Embassy´s relations with the Malaysian community as well as further promoted unity among Malaysians in Sweden.
