Malaysia along with other ASEAN member countries in Stockholm, Sweden namely Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and the Philippines organized for the first time ever ASEAN Day in Skansen (Open Museum) on 22 August 2009 with the objective of raising ASEAN’s profile in the Scandinavian region.

 

The event started with a reception hosted by ASEAN Ambassadors and continued with cultural performances and traditional sports demonstrations. All ASEAN Embassies participated in the market bazaar where handicrafts and national items were displayed and sold throughout the day.
