ASEAN FAMILY DAY 2016, STOCKHOLM, 6 AUGUST 2016

 

The Malaysian Residence became the venue for the ASEAN Day, Flag Raising Ceremony followed by the ASEAN Family Day.  The event, jointly organised by the ASEAN Ambassadors in Sweden was held on Saturday, 6 August 2016.

 

The grouping of ASEAN in Stockholm comprise of embassies of Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam and Trade Representative of the Philippines.   H.E. Norlin Othman joined the ASEAN Heads of Missions in welcoming all guests and the ASEAN communities to the one-day event.

 

The day was filled with fun activities of games ´sukaneka´ and table tennis competition. Each embassy brought their traditional food (satay from Malaysia, lontong from Indonesia, fish cake from Thailand and noodles from Vietnam and from Laos= in the spirit of sharing and togetherness. The Malaysian embassy´s officers and staff together with Malaysian community in Stockholm participated actively in the activities and the organization of the family day. The ASEAN Family Day has further instilled the spirit of friendship, solidarity and cooperation among ASEAN embassies and communities in Stockholm.
