Courtesy Call from Ms. Khadijah Ismail
On 6 March 2026, Mr. Theventhiran Arumugam, First Secretary, received a courtesy call from Ms. Khadijah Ismail at the Embassy of Malaysia. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the potential opportunities for the younger Malaysian generation to explore and participate in winter sports, particularly cross-country skiing.
Ms. Khadijah, who was in Sweden from 23 February to 8 March 2026, participated in the 90km Vasaloppet race on 1 March 2026. Prior to this achievement, she had also competed in several international races, including the 42km Dolomitenlauf (Austria), 70km Marcialonga (Italy), 50km Jizerská (Czech Republic), 42km Finlandia Hiihto (Finland), 63km Tartu Maraton (Estonia) and 50km Bieg Piastow (Poland). The Embassy extends its heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Khadijah for attaining the prestigious Gold Master status, making her the first Malaysian to achieve the Worldloppet Master title. We wish her continued success in her sporting journey and future endeavours.
