On 7 October 2025, Ambassador Sarimah Akbar paid a courtesy call on Mr. Oscar Schlyter, Deputy Head of the Department for Asia, the Pacific and Latin America at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in a constructive discussion on ways to further strengthen Malaysia–Sweden bilateral relations, including prospective high-level visits and the continuation of strategic dialogues between the two countries. Ambassador Sarimah also took the opportunity to seek the Swedish Government’s support for Malaysia’s candidatures to international organisations.
