EXTENSION OF VALIDITY PERIOD OF MALAYSIAN INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT FOR MALAYSIANS RESIDING ABROAD

 

The Immigration Department of Malaysia has agreed to allow all Malaysian Diplomatic Missions abroad to extend the validity of the Malaysian International Passport for two (2) years for passports expiring in 2021 only. This facility is applicable only to Malaysian nationals who are residing abroad with a valid residence permit, work permit or student visa/permit. This extension is not applicable for tourist visa holders.

 

No fees will be charged for the extension.

 

The passport’s new expiry date will be duly written/stamped on the Observation Page or page 48 of the passport by an authorised Embassy official.

 

Application form, supporting documents, photos and other requirements for the abovementioned passport extension are the same as the application for a passport with a five (5) year validity.
