Officials from the Ministry of Housing and Local Government of Malaysia made a technical visit to Sweden on the theme `Green Cities´ from 31 October to 4 November 2011. The three member delegation was led by Dr. Dahlia Rosly, Director of the Research and Development Division, Federal Department of Town and Country Planning, Malaysia. The technical visit was an initiative following a Workshop organized by the Federal Department of Town and Country Planning, Malaysia in collaboration with the Swedish Government on Green Growth Initiatives on 24 May 2011.

The visit was facilitated by the Embassy of Malaysia in Stockholm and the programme included meetings with officials from the Swedish National Board of Housing, Environment and Health Administration of Stockholm City Hall, Stockholm City Development Administration and Stockholm Royal Seaport. The delegation also visited the city of Malmö for a briefing on green city planning and a briefing by Sweco consultant on sustainable city development.

The technical visit was a success in view of the positive and encouraging responses received from the Swedish government officials for meetings and briefings.
