Luncheon hosted by His Excellency Håkan Jevrell, State Secretary for Foreign Trade and Investment Promotion of Sweden at the Ministry for Foreign Affa
On 8 April 2025, Ambassador Sarimah Akbar attended a luncheon hosted by His Excellency Håkan Jevrell, State Secretary for Foreign Trade and Investment Promotion of Sweden at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden. Aside from the Chief of Protocol, the luncheon brought together several key figures of Sweden, namely Mr. Johan Holmsten, Director of Sales & Marketing, Monitor ERP; Ms. Emma Broms, Director, Region South and Southeast Asia, Business Sweden; Mr. Filip Elveling, Government and Institutional Relations Lead, Hitachi Energy; and Mr. Kurt Bratteby, Director of International Relations at the Swedish Institute.
The discussion focused on fostering collaboration between Malaysia and Sweden in key sectors such as higher education, semiconductor industries, and green technology. Furthermore, Ambassador Sarimah took the opportunity to emphasise the emerging business and trade prospects available despite the challenges posed by the current geopolitical landscape. Overall, the luncheon served as an essential step towards strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing strategic partnerships between Malaysia and Sweden for a sustainable and prosperous future.
