Working visit to Volvo Trucks AB in Gothenburg
On 29 September 2025, Ambassador Sarimah Akbar undertook a working visit to Volvo Trucks AB in Gothenburg, with the objective of strengthening engagement with the company’s leadership and exploring opportunities to further strengthen Volvo’s footprint in Malaysia.
During the visit, Ambassador Sarimah met with Mr. Johan Larsson, Managing Director of Volvo Trucks Malaysia, Ms. Elin Österlindh, Vice President Business Development, and Mr. Anders Vilhelmsson, Public Affairs Director of Volvo Trucks, Gothenburg. The discussions provided an opportunity to exchange views on Volvo Trucks’ operations in Malaysia, while also addressing the challenges faced by the company in maintaining its long-standing value and competitiveness in the Malaysian market.
In addition to the meeting, Ambassador Sarimah and the Embassy delegation were given a tour of the company’s Tuve plant, which plays a pivotal role in the global production of Volvo trucks. The visit underscored the Embassy’s continued commitment to facilitating constructive engagement with Swedish companies operating in Malaysia, while also supporting their efforts to contribute towards Malaysia’s industrial development and innovation.
