21st ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF KELAB MALAYSIA THAILAND, 12 MARCH 2011

For three consecutive years, the Embassy of Malaysia had played host to the Annual General Meeting of Kelab Malaysia Thailand (KMT) where the most recent edition was successfully held on 12 March 2011. More than 35 members came for the AGM including those from the Embassy.

2.         The highlight of the AGM was the election for the President of KMT where the meeting in a majority decision voted in Mr. Andrew Nanang as the new President to replace Mr. Bobby Tai who had held the post for two consecutive terms. Consistent with the provision of the constitution of KMT, the new President who would assume his role with effect 1 April 2011 would appoint other committee members to assist him in running KMT.

3.            The full report of the activities carried out in 2009 and 2010 was presented by the outgoing President. From the financial front, KMT obviously had improved its financial position by recording a surplus as opposed to deficit as shown in 2009. Meanwhile, in delivering the closing remarks, Mr Syed Bakri in his capacity as the CDA a.i. congratulated KMT for the job well done for the past years especially in enhancing the synergy between the Embassy and KMT and the support thrown at each other for the benefit of fellow Malaysians as a whole. He expressed his hope that the positive trend will continue under the new leadership.
