The Hon. Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi led the 40-member delegation from Malaysia to attend the 50^th General Border Committee Meeting which was held from 2 – 6 August 2010 in Bangkok. Other than the top senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, also present were the senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, Royal Malaysia Police and the National Security Council. Other than attending the meeting, Dato’ Seri Dr. Zahid also had the opportunities to call on the H.E. Abhisit Vejjajiva, Prime Minister of Thailand and H.E. Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan, Defence Minister of Thailand.

 

2.         In honouring the high level delegation from Malaysia, H.E. Dato’ Husni Zai Yaacob hosted a dinner at the Embassy where the delegation was warmly welcomed and served with local Thai cuisines. It was also an opportunity for the Heads of Department at the Embassy to meet up with the delegates from Malaysia in a casual and relaxed environment. Dato’ Seri Dr. Zahid is a familiar face to the staff of the Embassy as within a period of less than a year, he had visited the Embassy thrice and many had been touched by his warm and easy-going personality.
