     Consistent with the festive spirit, the Embassy of Malaysia had successfully organised Aidil Fitri Open House which managed to attract almost 250 fellow Malaysians who reside and work in Bangkok to attend the function. Despite the heavy downpour, the invitees came in droves to celebrate the auspicious event.  

 

     A good range of Malaysian and Thai food was served to satisfy the taste buds of the invitees. The warm and cordial environment was evident throughout the evening until they started to leave the function by 10p.m.  Some were seen reluctant to leave as there was so much to catch up with each other.  

 

     The organisation of the event certainly bodes well with the aspiration of the Government of Malaysia to engage and work closely with fellow Malaysians abroad. Not only it could be used to strengthen the relationship with the Malaysian community in Thailand, more importantly, the Embassy would be able to engage them informally in order to understand their problems and concern as Malaysians residing in Thailand.
