COURTESY CALL ON H.E. POL. GEN. PRATEEP TANPRASERT ACTING INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE OF THAILAND 9 FEBRUARY 2010

Ambassador Dato’ Husni Zai Yaacob paid a courtesy call on Pol. Gen. Prateep Tanprasert, Acting Inspector General of Police of Thailand on 9 February 2010.
Also in attendance were SAC II Abdul Hamid Bulat, Police Liaison Officer of the Embassy, Supt Anuar Ahmad and Mr. Nazarudin Ja’afar, First Secretaries of the Embassy.

2.         The call which lasted about 20 minutes had accorded H.E. Dato’ Husni Zai the opportunity to exchange views with Pol. Gen. Prateep on various issues of mutual concern between Malaysia and Thailand. Both sides were satisfied with the level of cooperation especially between the security forces of both countries. Both sides have been cooperating well in tackling relevant issues, particularly, along the border. H.E. Dato’ Husni Zai also seized the opportunity to thank the Royal Thai Police for the assistance and hospitalities extended to many Malaysian dignitaries who had visited the Land of Smile in the past years. Given the excellent bilateral relations and proximity between the two countries, there were countless visits by Malaysian dignitaries to Thailand recorded in 2009 at various levels and all the visits had been accorded with VIP escorts by the Royal Thai Police.

3.                  Judging from the mood of the call, it was beyond doubt that the Royal Malaysian Police and the Royal Thai Police have been cooperating well and the relations between the two have been very warm and friendly.
