LECTURE BY ECONOMIC COUNSELLOR ON BUSINESS PRACTICES & MARKETING SYSTEM IN MALAYSIA AT KASERTSAT UNIVERSITY, BANGKOK, 29 MAY 2011
The Embassy of Malaysia was invited by the University of Kasertsat to give a public lecture to a group of 40 students from its International MBA Programme on business practices and marketing system in Malaysia. In this regard, the Embassy was represented by Mr. Mohd Iqbal Mohd Noor, Economic Counsellor. Also present was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nirundon Topachai, Director of Kasertsat International MBA Programme (KIMBAP).
2. In presenting his lecture, Mr. Iqbal gave a general account on the prevailing business practices in Malaysia including the possible collaborations with relevant entities as well as the appropriate forums in further enhancing business opportunities in Malaysia. The 3-hour lecture was followed by a Q&A session where a number of students posed some challenging questions to the presenter such as the alleged bureaucracy in setting up business entities in Malaysia and the remedial steps that have been taken by the Government to address such problem.
3. Such invitation was the third one received by the Embassy in 2011 for its officers to brief the students on various issues on Malaysia. The Embassy certainly welcomes the above initiative which clearly augurs well with its economic and public diplomacy initiatives. It is hoped that more opportunities will be made available in the future for the Embassy to explain various other issues on Malaysia to interested audiences in Thailand.
