It was another edition of the Merdeka Games successfully organised by the Sports & Welfare Club of the Embassy of Malaysia on 9, 16 & 24 July 2011 to mark the celebration of Hari Merdeka which activities managed to bring together the Embassy’s staff and fellow Malaysians residing in Bangkok.

 

2.         The Games started off with badminton tournament which was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Embassy followed by bowling which was held at Major Bowl at Central Rama III Mall.  

 

3.            The final week saw sukaneka (children’s and adult’s games) being held, again, at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Embassy in a fun-filled atmosphere. The presence of all Embassy’s staff including the local Thai staff had contributed to the overall fun-filled atmosphere where other than participating in the said games and winning fabulous prizes, they also seized the opportunity to mingle with each other in a friendly and relaxed environment. Some even seized the opportunity to sell Malaysians’ all time favourite nasi lemak and karipap to those present.   

 

4.         The organisation of such events was held with the aim of bringing Malaysians in Bangkok together and consistent with the ongoing efforts by the Embassy to continue engaging them at all times.
