H.E. Dato’ Husni Zai Yaacob together with Mr. Ahmad Nasarudin Mohd Noor, Senior Manager from the Exporters Development Division of MATRADE were interviewed by Khun Varin, a reporter for ASEAN TV over the issue of MIHAS 2010 on 18 January 2010 at the latter’s studio. Malaysia will organise the 6^th edition of MIHAS from 23 – 27 June 2010 at MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre (MECC) in Kuala Lumpur. Last year, a total of 31 countries participated in MIHAS 2009 involving 529 exhibitors and it was the largest halal showcase in the world.

 

Throughout the interview which lasted nearly an hour, various issues concerning MIHAS were discussed at great length by both Dato’ Husni and Mr. Nasarudin. Given the increasing popularity and feedback received by the organiser of MIHAS, a new category for the showcase will also be introduced, namely, on food packaging, machinery and catering equipment.  Various seminars on halal certification, halal products developments etc will also be held in conjunction with the upcoming event.

 

It is hoped that the promotional efforts for MIHAS 2010 would bear fruits and more Thai companies would participate in this year’s edition compared to the previous years. The interview could be accessed from MCOT’s website – www.mcot.net/aseantv.
