TRAVEL ADVISORY FOR MALAYSIANS VISITING BANGKOK AND SURROUNDING PROVINCES IN THAILAND
Following the series of bomb explosions in Bangkok since 15 January 2014 and the emergency decree declared by the Caretaker Government of Thailand on 21 January 2014 covering Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan provinces, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to advise Malaysians to avoid travelling to the affected areas. They should consider, for the time being, postponing any non-essential visits to the region for personal safety and security reasons.
The Ministry also advises Malaysians who are already in the region to closely monitor and follow instructions issued by the authorities of Thailand. Any Malaysian requiring consular assistance may contact the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok, as follows:
