Following its press release of 27 October 2011, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to refer to the latest updates by the authorities in Thailand indicating that the flood situation is no more at a crisis level and has improved tremendously. Nonetheless, due to their low-lying location, some districts within the provinces of PathumThani, Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Prakan, Saraburi dan Bangkok are still being affected by flood water. In the city of Bangkok, several districts within low-lying western Bangkok are still inundated by the flood water. The authorities in these flooded areas have taken various steps to drain the stagnating flood water and they expect the flooded areas will be fully drained by the end of the year.
