VISIT BY STUDENTS FROM KOLEJ MARA KULIM AND SARASIT PITHAYALAI SCHOOL 21 JANUARY 2010

The Embassy of Malaysia, Bangkok received a group of 90 students and teachers from Kolej MARA Kulim and Sarasit Pithayalai School, Bangkok on 21 January 2010.
The Malaysian students who are attending matriculation course were in Bangkok as part of the exchange programme with Sarasit Pithayalai School, a tradition which has started since 1995.

2.         The objective of the exchange programme is basically to expose the students from both countries on the intricacies of the religious, cultural and social differences and how these differences could be bridged through friendship, goodwill and deep understanding on their uniqueness. It goes without saying that the programme would also accord the students with the opportunity to interact and exchange ideas and at the same time sharpen their skills in English language.

3.         The group was greeted by Dato’ Husni Zai Yaacob himself upon arrival. It was then followed by a short briefing conducted by the Head of Chancery on the work done by the Embassy so to give some basic perspectives to the students on the role and functions of the Embassy. In the reply remarks by  Tn. Hj. Roslan Abd Shukor, the Director of Kolej MARA Kulim, he expressed his profound gratitude to the Ambassador for receiving the delegation from the two schools and expressed his hope that the students would be able to learn something from the briefing given, particularly, on the work done by the Embassy as well as some aspects of international relations and diplomacy.

4.         Certainly visit of such nature bodes well with the aspiration of the Embassy to bring itself closer to the people in line with the concept of 1Malaysia.
