H.E. Datuk Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah Courtesy Call on Governor of Pattani

On 10 April 2026, H.E. Datuk Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah, Ambassador of Malaysia to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on Madam Patimoh Sadiyamu, Governor of Pattani.

Both sides reaffirmed the deep-rooted familial ties between Malaysia and Southern Thailand and exchanged views on the overall security situation in the region. The continued presence of Malaysian visitors reflects confidence in the improving conditions and ongoing efforts to ensure safety and stability.

Discussions also touched on key connectivity projects, including the double track railway linking to Pasir Mas and future connections to the ECRL, as well as the upgrading of border infrastructure such as road expansions and the construction of a new bridge.

The Malaysian side extended invitations to participate in MAHA 2026 and MIHAS 2026, highlighting opportunities to strengthen linkages with Malaysian industries, particularly in raw materials, with MATRADE Bangkok ready to facilitate business matching.
