REPEAL THE FACILITY FOR MANUALLY GRANTED THE EXTENSION OF THE TWO YEARS VALIDITY PERIOD FOR MALAYSIAN INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT (MIP)

 

Malaysia has re-opened its border to international travellers starting 1^st April 2022, and the Government of Malaysia has also announced that this marked the transition of Malaysia towards the endemic phase.

 

In light of the current situation, the Malaysia Immigration Department has decided to repeal the facility for manually granted the extension of the two years validity period for Malaysian (Malaysians living abroad) International Passport (MIP) which had expired in 2021 and are due to expire/ are expiring in 2022.  Therefore, the facility for such extension will be terminated effective 1^st  May 2022.  

 

All future passport applications would follow and resume the established practice and normal requirements of the pre-pandemic period. For further information on passport application, kindly refer to the Visa Division, MFTC either via email or contact as follows:

取消海外馬來西亞公民之馬來西亞國際護照(MIP)的有效期延長

 

關於海外馬來西亞公民之護照在2021或2022年到期的有效期延長二年，馬來西亞移民局已決定自2022年5月1日起取消該項規定。
