EXTENSION OF VALIDITY PERIOD FOR MALAYSIAN INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT (MIP) FOR MALAYSIAN STAYING OVERSEAS

 

Effective 25^th January 2022, the Malaysian Immigration Department has decided to extend the validity period for Malaysian International Passport (MIP) for a period of TWO (2) YEARS for Malaysians abroad whose passport have expired in 2021 or are expiring in 2022.

 

2.     Procedure for extension of MIP
   1. Extension is granted automatically when the applicant is present for MIP renewal;
   2. Requirements for MIP renewal remain in force;
   3. The endorsement of the extension will be stamped on the page OBSERVATION or page 48 of the applicant’s passport;
   4. Malaysian must hold a valid resident or permanent resident pass of the host country; and
   5. No fee for extension.

 

3. Applicant MUST schedule an appointment with the Visa Division, MFTC either via email or contact as follows:
