The Consulate General of Malaysia in Los Angeles invites application for an employment at the Consulate as follows:
Post Title : Driver
Terms of Employment : Contract for two years (renewable)
Eligibility : United States Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident
Must have a clean driving record (within last three years)
Basic Functions of the Position:
Operates a passenger vehicle to transport the Consul General and Consulate staff within the city and surrounding areas. Acts as the back-up to the Consul General’s Driver and drives certain VIP visitors as required. Position is required to work a staggered schedule, some weekend and holiday work is required for official event support.
Job Knowledge: Candidate must have a thorough knowledge of the city and surrounding areas Ensures that security guidelines are followed in route selection and that the vehicle is always in proper order. This may be tested.
Skills and Abilities: Exceptionally discrete, able to maintain absolute confidentiality with regard to information. Level 3 (Good working knowledge) spoken and written English is required. Basic auto mechanics knowledge is a must. Good communication skills, able to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
Education Requirements: Minimum High School Diploma
Experience: At least two years of driver experience.
Language: English. Malay language is a plus
Age: Between 25 and 40 years old.
