VISA EXEMPTION FOR PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA AND INDIA NATIONALS

Please be informed that starting December 1, 2023 to December 1, 2024, Malaysia will allow People’s Republic of China and India nationals 30 days VISA EXEMPTION for Tourist Visa ONLY to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations.

Therefore, any visa fees paid prior to December 1, 2023, WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.

 

APPLICATION FOR SINGLE ENTRY VISA TO MALAYSIA

The Consulate General of Malaysia ONLY issue SINGLE ENTRY VISAS to Malaysia. Any extensions or multiple entry visas must be done/ apply at the Malaysian Immigration Department in Malaysia.

American citizens do not require a visa to visit Malaysia for business or social reasons if their stay in Malaysia is 90 days or less. Please refer to the Quick Facts before traveling to Malaysia.

In view of the ongoing developments and guidelines issued by local authorities related to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), the Consulate General of Malaysia, Los Angeles has decided that all its Consular and Immigration services are provided by appointment only (no walk-in) effective September 22, 2020 until further notice.

A. Required documents:-

1. Completed and signed Visa Application form (IM.47)

2. Applicant’s original passport (with at least six months validity) and a copy of the passport (particulars/first page)

3. Copy of applicant’s Permanent Resident card or valid US visa (B1/B2 tourist visas are not accepted)

4. For the return postage – provide one (1) prepaid Priority Mail Express Flat Rate Envelope (USD28.75) available from your local U.S. Postal Service

5. One (1) recent U.S. passport size photograph (2x2)

6. Copy of confirmed flight itinerary showing dates of arrival and departure to and from Malaysia

7. Copy of hotel reservation or proof of accommodation in Malaysia

8. Copy of employment letter (or any other proof of employment or proof of school enrollment)

 

      

B. Fees:-

The payment must be in cashier’s check or money order made payable to “Consulate General of Malaysia”

  1. USD$18.00 for India passport
  2. USD$14.00 for Taiwan passport
  3. USD$3.00 United States of America Passport
  4. USD$10.00 China Passport
  5. USD$10.00 for U.S Travel Document
  6. USD $5.00 for Bolivia, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Indonesia and Sri Lanka.
  7. USD$10.00 for all other nationalities; and
  8. USD $13.00 for Card IMM. 108C

 

 

C. Note

1. Visa applications must be submitted at least two weeks prior to date of travel.

2. The processing time is three (3) – five (5) business days after the date of submission.

3. Visa applications for business travels can be submitted using visa service agency and visa applications for tourism can only be accepted in person or by mail.

4. List of foreign nationals who require Visa to enter Malaysia can be found here.

5. Holders of Malaysian visas are still subject to immigration control at the point of entry and therefore their entry into Malaysia is not guaranteed.

6. Failure to comply with the requirement will delay the process and Consulate General will not hold responsible for any delay to your travel arrangement.
