APPLICATION FOR RENUNCIATION OF MALAYSIAN CITIZENSHIP

 

 

NOTE:

 

  1. Malaysian Citizens who wish to renounce their citizenship are required to provide the following documents and must come in person for their thumb prints to be taken at the Consulate General of Malaysia, New York.
  1. All applications will be forwarded to the Malaysian Registration Department in Malaysia for processing. The approximate time for processing and approval could be at least one (1) year or more.
  1. Only applicable to applicants living in the 17 States under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Malaysia, New York: Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Wisconsin.

Original and two (2) copies of US Naturalization Certificate / US Certificate of Citizenship / US Birth Certificate (the copies must be certified by a local notary public and further legalized by the relevant city’s authorities i.e. City Hall)
