Distinguished Co-Facilitators,
Thank you for your comprehensive presentation on the zero draft. Malaysia aligns itself with the intervention delivered by Iraq on behalf of the Group G77 and China.
In its national capacity, Malaysia views the zero draft as a solid foundation for further discussion. We appreciate the overall approach outlined in the document and commend the conciseness with which the modalities have been presented. The clarity in structure and the comprehensive nature of the draft provide a positive framework for our discussions.
Malaysia underlines the importance of this process which offers us a critical platform to discuss and implement strategies that ensure inclusive, equitable, and sustainable digital growth. Malaysia firmly believes that the success of any digital transformation must be measured by how it benefits the whole of society.
Malaysia also continues to stress that the digital divide is not just a technological issue, but also a barrier to social and economic progress. As we work towards our shared vision of a more inclusive information society, we must ensure that the digital economy benefits everyone and leave no one behind.
In conclusion, Malaysia remains fully committed to the process, recognizing the importance of the overall review of the WSIS outcomes. We support the efforts to finalize the modalities through open and transparent consultations, and we are confident that together we will be able to create a robust, fair, and inclusive framework for the review process.
Thank you.
