AT THE 2026 CONTINGENT-OWNED EQUIPMENT WORKING GROUP CLOSING CEREMONY

Mr. Chair,
As this Working Group concludes its deliberations, Malaysia wishes to express its sincere appreciation to the Chair, the Bureau, the Secretariat, and all delegations for their constructive engagement and cooperation throughout the session.
Malaysia reiterates its strong support for United Nations peacekeeping operations and for the continued strengthening of the Contingent-Owned Equipment reimbursement system. The outcomes of this Working Group are essential to ensuring that peacekeepers are adequately equipped and properly supported to operate safely and effectively in increasingly complex and volatile environments. The safety and security of peacekeepers must remain at the core of our collective efforts.
Malaysia looks forward to the effective implementation of the agreed outcomes and remains committed to working closely with all stakeholders to further enhance the sustainability, effectiveness, and impact of UN peacekeeping operations.
In conclusion, Malaysia reaffirms its unwavering commitment to peacekeeping efforts under the United Nations's ambit. We stand ready to continue working with others to strengthen our commitment to international peace and security, and we will not waver in our dedication to this noble cause.
