His Excellency Dato' Sri Dr. Jamaludin Jarjis witnessed the arrival of Malaysia?s home-grown low fare airline, the AirAsia X Airbus A340 on 15 September 2009.
Airasia is the first airline from Asia to associate itself with the Oakland Raiders, a professional National Football League (NFL) team. In his speech, H.E. Dato' Sri Dr. Jamaludin said this is a great step in building bilateral ties and in contributing to the development of the tourism industry in this part of the world and in Malaysia.
The ceremony was also witnessed by Mr. Ron Dellums, the Mayor of Oakland, Mr. Mark Davis, the owner of the Oakland Raiders and Ms. Amy Trask, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Oakland Raiders. While on the AirAsia side were Mr. Azran Osman-Rani, CEO of AirAsia X, and Datuk Lim Kian Onn, Director of AirAsia X.
