MALAYSIAN AMBASSADOR MEETS WITH CO-CHAIRS OF MALAYSIA CAUCUS IN U.S. CONGRESS
His Excellency Datuk Othman Hashim, Malaysian Ambassador to the U.S., held separate meetings with Representative Pete Sessions (Republican-Texas) and Representative Gregory Meeks (Democrat-New York) of the U.S. House on Wednesday, 11 July 2012 and Thursday, 12 July 2012 respectively. Both Representatives are co-chairs of the Malaysia Caucus in the U.S. Congress.
The Ambassador took the opportunity to exchange views with both Congressmen on the latest developments in bilateral relations, Malaysia as well as the Southeast Asian region. Both the Congressmen and the Ambassador underscored the importance to continue the momentum in bilateral relations by promoting greater trade and economic ties, people-to-people contact and the exchange of visits. Both Representatives also expressed strong interest in visiting Malaysia in the near future and to continue to promote the Malaysia Caucus.
