U.S. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HOSTS WELCOME LUNCHEON FOR MALAYSIAN AMBASSADOR

On 25 June 2012, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce hosted a roundtable luncheon to welcome His Excellency Datuk Othman Hashim, Ambassador of Malaysia to the U.S.  Ms. Tami Overby, Vice President for Asia, provided welcoming remarks, a brief overview of the companies present during the lunch and an introduction of the Malaysian Ambassador. 

 

Among the companies represented at the luncheon were Citi, Cargill, Caterpillar, Ford, Bechtel, AdvaMed, PhRMA, Exxon Mobil, FedEx, Pfizer and IBM. 

 

In his remarks, H.E. Datuk Othman Hashim thanked U.S. Chamber of Commerce for hosting the luncheon and spoke on recent bilateral relations between Malaysia and the U.S., trade and economic issues such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership. 

 

He also highlighted the important contribution made by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in promoting Malaysia among U.S. companies and the corporate sector and the question and answer session focused on many issues of interest to U.S. companies.
