Courtesy call by the Halal Coordinator of Malaysia and the Director-General of JAKIM - 11 November 2025
11112025 His Excellency Ilham Tuah Illias, Ambassador of Malaysia, received a courtesy call from Datin Paduka Hajah Hakimah Mohd Yusoff, Halal Coordinator Malaysia, Prime Minister’s Department (JPM); Datuk Sirajuddin Suhaimee, Director-General of the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM); and Mr. Mohamad Samir Sulaiman, Principal Assistant Director of the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia.
The meeting took place in conjunction with the 20th SMIIC General Assembly and the 30th SMIIC Board of Directors Meeting, scheduled to be held from 11 to 13 November 2025. During the courtesy call, both sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in halal standards, certification processes, and strategic engagement within the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) framework. The delegation also briefed His Excellency on Malaysia’s role and contributions in the upcoming SMIIC meetings. The JAKIM delegation also met with Dr. Aleksey Udovenko, Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) and Mr. Bakhodir Bakhtiyarovich Umirshaykhov, Chairman of the Food Industry Association of Uzbekistan
