  1. Malaysian born in Vietnam can be registered on the conditions:

 

  1. Father/Mother of the child is a Malaysian citizen at the time of birth
  2. Registration is made within 1 year from the date of birth. For registration made beyond the period of 1 year of the birth, similar process still applies. However, the Embassy will forward the application to the National Registration Department of Malaysia for approval. Feedback of the application (approved or otherwise) will be notified to the applicant.

 

  1. Documents to be submitted:

 

Part I: For the baby

 

1. Original Vietnamese Birth Certificate issued by the Local Authorities. The baby must be recognized by the local authority that he/she is holding Malaysian citizenship.

2. One (01) recent photograph of applicant

3. The applicant is requested to be present at the Embassy for finger print on the application form. 

 

Part II: For the Malaysian father

 

1. Original Malaysian passport and one (01) copy of it

2. Original Malaysian ID card and one (01) copy of it

3. Original Malaysian Birth Certificate and one (01) copy of it

4. One (01) recent photographs of applicant

5. Fill up the form Borang D JPN.WN02 which will be provided the original form (free of charge) while you present at the Embassy for the submission of the documents.

6. Malaysian father of the applicant is requested to be present at the Embassy for filling and signing on the application form.

 

Part III: For the Vietnamese mother

 

1. Original Malaysian Marriage Certificate issued by the Registration Department of Malaysia or by the Embassy of Malaysia.

2. Original Vietnamese Marriage Certificate issued by Justice Department of the

3. Original Vietnamese ID card and one (01) copy of it

4. Original Vietnamese Birth Certificate and one (01) copy of it

5. Original Vietnamese passport and one (01) copy of it

6. One (01) recent photographs of applicant

Note: All the documents in (1) in Part I and from (2) to (4) in Part III must be:

  • Translated into English by the qualified translator and Notarized  by Notary Public in Vietnam
  • Endorsed by the Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam at No. 40, Tran Phu street, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi.

 

  1. Fee: RM 30.00/ VND 210,000
  2. Duration: 3 working days

Part I: For the Malaysian

 

1. Original Malaysian passport and one (01) copy of it;

2. Original Malaysian ID card and one (01) copy of it;

3. Copy of the Malaysian Birth Certificate;

4. Copy of residence card/ work permit/ stay permit in Vietnam;

4. One (01) recent photograph of applicant;

5. Fill up the form JPN. KC 06 (the original form will be provided by the Embassy while you visit us for the submission of the documents).

 

Part II: For the Vietnamese

 

1. Original Vietnamese passport and one (01) copy of it;

2. Original Vietnamese Marriage Certificate issued by Vietnam;

3. Original Vietnamese ID card and one (01) copy of it;

4. Original Vietnamese Birth Certificate and one (01) copy of it;

5. One recent photograph of applicant.

                                                                                                                        

Note:  All the documents from (2) to (4) in Part II must be:

  • Translated into English by the qualified translator and Notarized  by Notary Public in Vietnam
  • Endorsed by the Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam at No. 40, Tran Phu street, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi.

 

  1. Fee: RM 20.00/ VND 140,000
  2. Duration: 3 working days

 

  • The marriage must be registered within 6 months from the date of marriage. Any registration made after 6 months of marriage is considered as late registration. The fee for late registration is RM100.00 for the first consequence 6 months and RM50.00 for every six months thereof.
  • The applicants (both husband and wife) must be present at the Embassy for the submission and collection of the certificate.
