Birth/Marriage Certificate Registration
REGISTRATION OF BIRTH IN VIETNAM
- You are required to make prior appointment by calling +84 0283829 9023 or email to mwhochiminh@kln.gov.my
- The following documents are required (in 2 copies each)
- Birth certificate issued by the relevant Vietnamese authorities translated into English and certified by the External Relations Department, Ho Chi Minh City; and;
- Recent photograph of the infant (blue background, size 3.5 by 5 cm). Malaysian Marriage Certificate;
- Passport of both parents; and
- Identity card of both parents.
- Vietnam Temporary Resident/or Entrance Visa (latest) of a father.
- Please be advised that the infant’s thumbprint will be taken as part of the process.
- A fee of RM30.00 will be charged.
- Processing time is 04 working days.
- Note: the limit time for registration of birth is within 12 months from the date of birth of baby, beyond that, applicant is required to contact JPN (National Registration Department) Malaysia for a reference.
REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGE
- You are required to make prior appointment by calling +84 0283829 9023 or email to mwhochiminh@kln.gov.my /or hcm.consular@kln.gov.my
- The following documents are required (in 2 copies each):
- Certified true copy of Marriage certificate issued by the Department of Justice in Vietnam translated into English and endorsed by the External Relations Department, Ho Chi Minh City;
- Certified true copy of the wife’s birth certificate translated into English and endorsed by the External Relations Department, Ho Chi Minh City;
- Identity card of both applicants;
- Passport of both applicants; and
- Recent photographs of both applicants (blue background, size 3.5 X 5 cm).
- Vietnam Temporary Resident/or Entrance Visa (latest) of a husband.
- A fee of RM20.00 will be charged.
- Processing time is 04 working days.
- The Consulate General will not process applications involving a spouse whose age is below 21.
