VIETNAM VISA FOR MALAYSIAN CITIZENS

 
Please be informed that the Chinese passport holders are not required visa to Malaysia for 30 days for the purpose of tourist, business, meeting and social visit. This notice is effective from 01 December 2023.

MALAYSIAN PASSPORT HOLDERS NEED VISA TO VIETNAM OR NOT?

 

As a citizen of this country, you are required no entry visa for a stay of maximum 30 days in Vietnam.

 

If staying longer than 30 days in Vietnam, Malaysian passport holders need to get a visa.

 

 

HOW TO APPLY?

 

There are options:

 

1. Apply Vietnam visa online (Recommended).

This is called Vietnam Visa on Arrival (VOA). You apply Vietnam visa online via website: www.vietnamvisa.govt.vn, obtain the approval letter to pick up Visa at the airports in Vietnam.

 

2. Or contact local Vietnam Embassy for Visa stamped on your passport before arriving Vietnam.

MULTIPLE ENTRY VISA (MEV) FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS WORKING IN VIETNAM

 

Documents required:

  1. One (1) photograph (passport size, white background) of applicant;
  2. Passport (with at least six [6] months validity when entering Malaysia, have 02 blank pages) + one photocopy of the passport, Vietnamese resident card/Multiple visa;
  3. Letter from company in Vietnam to confirm applicant’s identity, position in company and purpose of travel to Malaysia;
  4. Supporting documents: hotel booking confirmation,  invitation letter to a conference, seminar etc. for 02 times and beyond;
  5. Air-ticket booking showing return/ 2-way travel ( for 02 times and beyond). 

Fee:

Visa fee is VND 700,000 (India passport holder)/ VND420,000 (People’s Republic of China passport holder)/ VND 280,000 (other countries).  We only accept cash. 

Processing time:

In general, processing will take four (4) working days.  Processing time is longer if further inquiry/ vetting is required on your application/ supporting documents by the Consulate or the relevant Malaysian government agencies.  You are advised to submit your application in advance and the Consulate shall not be held responsible for changes in your travel plan if processing takes more than 4 working days.

 

SINGLE ENTRY VISA (SEV) FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS WORKING IN VIETNAM

 

Documents required:

  1. One (1) photograph (passport size, white background) of applicant;
  2. Passport (with at least six [6] months validity when entering Malaysia, have 02 blank pages) + one photocopy of the passport, Vietnamese resident card/Multiple visa;
  3. Letter from company in Vietnam to confirm applicant’s identity, position in company and purpose of travel to Malaysia;
  4. Supporting documents: hotel booking confirmation or letter by a sponsor in Malaysia or invitation letter to a conference, seminar etc.;
  5. Air-ticket booking showing return/ 2-way travel. 

Fee:

Visa fee is VND 350,000 (India passport holder)/ VND210,000 (People’s Republic of China passport holder)/ VND 140,000 (other countries).  We only accept cash. 

Processing time:
