HEAD OF MISSION
HIS EXCELLENCY AMBASSADOR DATO' SHAZRYLL ZAHIRAN
His Excellency Ambassador Dato' Shazryll Zahiran joined the Government Service of Malaysia in 2000, and later assumed the ranks as a Foreign Service Officer in 2001 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In his years of service he had served as the Assistant Secretary in the Management and Inspectorate Division, Assistant Secretary in the Langkawi International Dialogue Secretariat, Principal Assistant Secretary in the Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Division (which later renamed as the Multilateral Security Division), Deputy Director General of the Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT) and Deputy Director General of the Ministry’s Policy and Coordination Department.
He received his Credential as the Ambassador of Malaysia on 15 June 2021 and assumed his duties in Manama, Bahrain on 27 July 2021.
During his years of service, he had also served as the First Secretary at the Embassy of Malaysia in Bosnia and Herzegovina (2002), and was appointed as the Consul General of Malaysia to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (2011).
In advancing his expertise and knowledge, His Excellency Ambassador was also selected for several short term assignments, one of them was as a long term delegate to the UN attached to the Malaysian Permanent Office to the UN New York in 2005. He was also a pioneer to the Japan UN Peace-Building Course in 2007 and was attached to the UNDP, UXO Department in Laos People’s Democratic Republic.
In honoring his service to the country, he was conferred several awards to honour and recognize his service to the country. They are, the Companion of the Illustrious Order of Loyalty to the Royal House of Kedah (S.D.K) , Member of the Exalted Order of the Crown of Kedah (A.M.K) and Knight Companion of the Order of Loyalty to the Royal House of Kedah (D.S.D.K)
His Excellency Ambassador Dato' Shazryll Zahiran holds a BBA (Hons) in International Business from University Technology of MARA (UiTM) and a Diploma in Business Studies from the Technology Institute of MARA (ITM).
He is married to Datin Zuraina Abd Ghani and is blessed with a son.
