IMMIGRATION FACILITIES FOR FOREIGNERS

 

  1. TOURIST VISA APPLICATION BY CHINA CITIZENS AND OTHER FOREIGNERS

(KNOWN AS MANUAL VISA OR STICKER VISA)

 

Ordinary Passport Holders of the People’s Republic of China is entitled to apply for Malaysia’s Single Entry Visa (SEV) & Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) physical Sticker VISA for tourism purpose. Malaysian SEV & MEV VISA holders will be permitted to enter and remain in Malaysia for not more than thirty (30) days from the date of entry.

 

Below are the documents which need to be submitted to ensure the application eligible to be accepted for issuance of Malaysian Visa:-

  1. Present a signed, dated VISA Application Form,
  2. Provide two (02) recent photographs (two (02)inches, passport size with white background);

  3. Provide passport or travel document:

  • which must be valid more than six (06) months;
  • which have at least two (02) pages free in the visa pages for the insertion of a vignette and Immigration Endorsements;

  1. Tourism Application:

  • Confirmed purchased flight ticket to Malaysia & return flight ticket;

  • Confirmed Hotel Booking / Accommodation Proof;

  • Travel Itinerary in Malaysia with a letter which explains the purpose of the journey to Malaysia;

  • Foreign passport holders in China must hold Long Term China Visa (Student/Employment/Dependent) which valid more than three (03) months before application.)

  • Foreign Passport holders also should submit employment/ student confirmation letter from employer/ university in China.

  • Valid yellow fever injection medical certificate (Required for some Africa and South America passport holders. Visa eligibility is 14 days and enter via air checkpoints only).

 

5. Payment of processing fee is CNY200.00 for all passport holders. Payment of Visa fee is CNY80.00 for China, CNY130.00 for India and CNY50.00 for other passport holders.

6. Produce an Authorization letter if the application submission will be done on behalf. The authorized person should travel together with the applicant. Maximum submission is up to five (05) applications per authorized person.

 

The processing time is three (03) working days. We strictly do not provide express service.  The Visa approval/ rejection is the sole discretion of the Malaysian Immigration Attaché officer at the Embassy of Malaysia.

(KNOWN AS MANUAL VISA OR STICKER VISA)

 

Ordinary Passport Holders of the People’s Republic of China is entitled to apply for Malaysia’s Single Entry Visa (SEV) & Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) physical Sticker VISA for social visit purpose. Malaysian SEV & MEV VISA holders will be permitted to enter and remain in Malaysia for not more than thirty (30) days from the date of entry.

 

Below are the documents which need to be submitted to ensure the application eligible to be accepted for issuance of Malaysian Visa:-

  1. Present a signed, dated VISA Application Form,

  2. Provide two (02) recent photographs (two (02)inches; passport size with white background);

  • Invitation letter from Malaysia Citizen / Family members/ relatives in Malaysia;

  • Marriage Certificate, passport and IC copy of husband/ wife (if spouse);

  • Confirmed purchased flight ticket to Malaysia & return flight ticket;

  • Confirmed Hotel Booking / Accommodation Proof;

  • Travel Itinerary in Malaysia with a letter which explains the purpose of the journey to Malaysia;

  • Foreign passport holders in China must hold Long Term China Visa (Student/Employment/Dependent) which valid more than three (03) months before application).

3. BUSINESS VISIT APPLICATION BY CHINA CITIZENS AND OTHER FOREIGNERS (KNOWN AS MANUAL VISA OR STICKER VISA)

 

Ordinary Passport Holders of the People’s Republic of China is entitled to apply for Malaysia’s Single Entry Visa (SEV) & Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) physical Sticker VISA for business (not employment) visit purpose. Malaysian SEV & MEV VISA holders will be permitted to enter and remain in Malaysia for not more than thirty (30) days from the date of entry.

 

The business activities which allowed to do using this visit pass is to attend the meeting, business discussion, visit factories, audit, sign agreements, attend seminars, conferences or exams, visiting school/ university and take part in sports in Malaysia.

 

Below are the documents which need to be submitted to ensure the application eligible to be accepted for issuance of Malaysian Visa:-

  1. Present a signed, dated VISA Application Form,

  2. Provide two (02) recent photographs (two (02)inches; passport size with white background);

  3. Provide passport or travel document:

  • which must be valid more than six (06) months;
  • which have at least two (02) pages free in the visa pages for the insertion of a vignette and Immigration Endorsements;
  1. Business Visit Application :

  • Invitation letter from Malaysian Company;

  • Dispatch letter with employment details in China;

  • Company registration certificate in China;

  • Confirmed purchased flight ticket to Malaysia & return flight ticket;

  • Confirmed Hotel Booking / Accommodation Proof;

  • Foreign passport holders in China must hold Long Term China Visa (Student/Employment/Dependent) which valid more than three (03) months before application.)

  • Foreign Passport holders also should submit employment/ student confirmation letter from employer/ university in China.

4. VISA WITH REFERENCE / VISA DENGAN RUJUKAN (VDR)

 

Visa With Reference (VDR) will be issued to China (CHN) / foreign passport holders who holding Visa Approval Letter (VAL) from the Immigration Department of Malaysia. VDR is a compulsory requirement before a long term pass issued to a foreign passport holder in Malaysia. VAL holder may apply for VDR (Single Entry Visa) before performing the journey to Malaysia.

 

VDR will be issued to Social Visit, MM2H, Employment, Visit Pass Temporary Employment, Professional, Student, and Dependent pass VAL holders. VDR will be looks like normal social visit visa but it will be different in remark of pass type and reference number.

  1. Present a signed, dated VISA Application Form;

  2. Provide two (02) recent photographs (two (02)inches; passport size with white background);

  3. Provide passport or travel document:

China (CHN) passport holders may apply for E-VDR through www.windowmalaysia.my. E-VDR facility is available for Student Pass and Employment Pass (VAL) holders only. The applicant should upload all the above-required document and do an online visa application. Approval waiting time is 48 working hours (equivalent to 8 working hours a day) for issuance of e-visa.

5. TRANSIT PASS / TRANSIT WITHOUT VISA (120 HOURS)

 

 

5.1  TRANSIT PASS FOR CHINA, NEPAL, BHUTAN AND MYANMAR PASSPORT

  HOLDERS

 

China, Nepal, Bhutan and Myanmar Passport holders are eligible to apply for Transit Pass if travel through Malaysia and fulfil the following conditions.

 

  1. The Transit Pass facility provided in KLIA (KUL) airport (M & T2) terminals only. The traveller may enter and exit through either terminals when they were facilitated with transit pass by the Immigration Authority. Transit pass holders will not be allowed to exit from any other exit point of the country.

  2. Passport must valid more than 6 months.

  3. Confirmed purchased air ticket with e-ticket number for following/ return destination which not exceed 120 hours. (Printed copy)

  4. Enter to Malaysia using any airlines.

  5. Sufficient source of money to spend in Malaysia during the staying period USD500.00 or equivalent amount.

  6. Confirmed Hotel booking/ Accommodation details. (If applicable)

  7. Travel itinerary in Malaysia along with the duration of stay. (If appicable)

  8. Proceed to Transit Without Visa counter (TWOV) counter and request for 120 Hours Transit Pass upon your arrival in Malaysia.

  9. The Transit Pass is free of charge.

 

Issuance of transit pass is the sole discretion by the immigration officer at the point of arrival. The transit pass will be issued to the genuine traveller after the Immigration Inspection upon your arrival in Malaysia.

5.2 TRANSIT PASS FOR INDIA, PAKISTAN, BANGLADESH AND SRI LANKA PASSPORT HOLDERS

 

India/ Pakistan/ Bangladesh and Sri Lanka passport holders may use the transit pass facility in Malaysia during their journey back to home country/returning to residence country if fulfilled the following conditions:

 

  1. The above Nationals must have long term (employment, student, resident or dependent) Visa/ pass to/ from one of the following countries: (Australia, USA, China, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea or New Zealand).

  2. The Transit Pass facility provided in KLIA (KUL) airport (M & T2) terminals only. The traveller may enter and exit through either terminals when they were facilitated with transit pass by the Immigration Authority. Transit pass holders will not be allowed to exit from any other exit point of the country.

  3. Passport must valid more than 6 months.

  4. Confirmed purchased air ticket with e-ticket number for following/ return destination which not exceed 120 hours. (Printed copy)

  5. Enter to Malaysia using Malaysian Airlines (MAS)/Air Asia/ Malindo Air only.

  6. Sufficient source of money to spend in Malaysia during the staying period USD500.00 or equivalent amount.

  8. Travel itinerary in Malaysia along with the duration of stay. (If appicable)

6. VISA ON ARRIVAL (VOA)

 

China (CHN) and India (IND) Passport holder with a valid visa from Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand or Brunei is eligible to apply for Visa on Arrival (VOA) in Malaysia. Travellers who using a visa waiver facility in those countries are not eligible to apply for (VOA) in Malaysia.

 By Air:

  2. Penang International Airport, Penang

  3. Senai International Airport, Johor

  4. Kuching International Airport, Sarawak

  5. Kota Kinabalu International Airport, Sabah

  6. Langkawi International Airport, Kedah

  7. Miri Airport, Sarawak

  8. Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Selangor

 

By land:

  1. Sultan Abu Bakar Checkpoint, Johor. (Second Link through Tuas-Singapore)

  2. Sungai Tujuh Immigration Checkpoint. (Sarawak)

  3. Bukit Kayu Hitam ICQS Kedah. (Thailand- Malaysia)

 

By sea:

  1. Labuan International Ferry Terminal. (Labuan)

        

 Below are the must comply conditions for apply VOA:

  1. Must have valid Visa from Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand or Brunei.

  2. Priority to family visitor/ group tourist/ business visitor/investor.

  3. Confirm purchased return flight ticket with e-ticket number to own country. (Printed copy)

  4. Hotel stay/ accommodation details in Malaysia.

  5. Minimum pocket money to show is USD500 or equivalent. (Hard cash or digital money)

  6. The validity of VOA is fifteen (15) days per entry. No extension allowed.

  7. Payment for VOA is RM200 or equivalent for each application.

7. eVISA (ELECTRONIC/ ONLINE VISA APPLICATION)

 

CAN I APPLY eVISA OR HOW TO APPLY eVISA AND DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR eVISA?

 

There are 10 countries which are eligible to apply for eVISA. List of the countries are China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Mangolia, Bhutan, Serbia, Montenegro and Myanmar. You may apply for Evisa through https://www.windowmalaysia.my/evisa/evisa.jsp

 

  1. Payment for eVisa is CNY280 for China passport holder (CNY200 processing fee & CNY80 VISA fee);

 

An eVISA for Tourist (China, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan,Bhutan, Serbia and Montenegro) is only valid for a single journey to Malaysia for purposes of tourism trips for the maximum of 30 days.

 

An eVISA for Tourist Indian National is only valid for a multiple journey to Malaysia for purposes of tourism trips for the maximum of 15 or 30 days.

 

 • Any applicant, who breaches the Malaysian law, will be subject to criminal proceedings and administrative actions by the Government of Malaysia. Applicants are not allowed to accept any unauthorized employment, or attend school, or represent the foreign information media during their stay in Malaysia.

 

• An eVISA is only valid for a single journey to Malaysia within 3 months from the date of issuance, provided that the applicants passport remains valid.

 

• Applicants shall furnish the following proofs to the Immigration Officers at the Entry/Exit points: - Valid passport - Your eVISA printout - Confirmed Returned flight ticket - Proof of accommodation

 

• All eVISA applications are considered on individual merit, and the Malaysian Embassy has the right to seek additional information at any stage of processing. The fact that an application for a visa has been received by the eVISA system does not guarantee that the eVISA will be issued. Malaysia Embassy/Consulate reserves the right to refuse an eVISA application without providing any reason whatsoever. Applicant shall ensure that they hold a valid Malaysia eVISA before they travel to the Malaysia.

 

• Applicants must ensure that all supporting documents image uploaded for the eVISA application such as passport photos, passport landing pages, return tickets; accommodation proof or other supporting documents are clear and viewable as per the specification provided. Any supporting documents image that is found to be not clear, blur, unreadable or does not meet the required specifications may result in an eVISA application rejection or denial of entry into Malaysia by the Malaysia Immigration Officer at the entry/exit points.

 

• An email notification regarding the eVISA application approval within 48 working hours (equivalent to 8 working hours a day) from the time of payment and complete submission has been made. This 48 working hours processing period applies only for working days and, does not include weekends, public holidays, Malaysian holidays and China event holidays. The approval of eVISA is under the sole discretion by the Malaysian Immigration Attache.

 

• The 48 hours processing time also does not include unforeseen or uncontrollable events including, but not limited to, system maintenance downtime, ISP equipment failure, host equipment failure, communications network failure, power failure, natural events or acts of war.

 

• Once approval decision has been made, Applicants will receive an email notification regarding the eVISA approval result. Approval result may include the following status:

- Approved - The eVISA application has been approved

- Rejected - The eVISA application has been declined

- Request for Document - Applicants is required to upload/re-upload supporting documents as specified by the Malaysia Embassy/Consulate

- Request For Interview - Applicants is required to attend an interview session with the Malaysia Embassy/Consulate before any approval decision is been made.

 • For request document result, applicants must ensure they upload/re-upload the specified supporting documents as per requested by the Malaysian Embassy/Consulate immediately. The processing time will be reset back to 48 hours once the applicants have successfully uploaded the specified supporting documents. The Embassy/Consulate can decide to request document for an eVISA application multiples times until the applicant uploads correctly the specified supporting documents.

 

• For request interview results, applicants must ensure to attend the interview session as per the scheduled date and time set by the Embassy/Consulate to ensure the approval decision can be made accordingly.

 

 • Issuance or approval of an eVISA does not in any way guarantee the applicant the right to enter Malaysia. The entry is at the sole discretion of the Malaysia Immigration Officer at the entry point. In case of denial of visa or entry into Malaysia by the Immigration Officer, Embassy of Malaysia shall in no way be liable to the applicant in any manner whatsoever.

 

 • The Embassies and Consulates have the authority to decide whether an eVISA will be issued or not, the type of a eVISA to be issued as well as its validity, duration of stay and number of entries in accordance with Malaysia's relevant laws and regulations. Applicant is required to pay all the fees in online regardless of the result of the application. All fees paid are non-refundable.

 

• Applicants must ensure that all information furnished for the eVISA application is true and accurate. Any mistake found caused by the applicant himself or herself which resulted to the reissuance of an eVISA, the applicant acknowledges and agrees to re-apply and pay for a new eVISA application

 

 • Applicant below 12 years of age is compulsory to upload their Certificate of Birth.

8. eNTRI (ELECTRONIC TRAVEL REGISTRATION & INFORMATION)

 

Electronic Travel Registration & Information (eNTRI) is an online registration facility provided by the Government of Malaysia to facilitate the entrance of PRC passport holder tourists who are residing in People’s Republic of China (including Hong Kong and Macau) into Malaysia under the Visa Waiver Programme. You may apply for ENTRI through https://www.windowmalaysia.my/

 

Payment for eNTRI is CNY160 for China passport holder. eNTRI is not a Visa. It is a facility under Visa Waiver Programe.

 

An eNTRI Note will be issued as proof of the registration and is required to be presented upon arrival in Malaysia.

 

Who can apply for eNTRI?

PRC passport holder tourists who are residing in People’s Republic of China (including Hong Kong and Macau).

 

 

How long is the cooling off period for the following eNTRI application for same passport holder?

Cooling off period is 45 days from exiting from Malaysia.

 

How long can I stay with eNTRI?

An eNTRI holder is entitled to maximum of 15 days for each visit. Each application can only be used once. No extension is allowed.

 

What are the terms and conditions for eNTRI?

• Upon completion of registration, applicants are required to print out the eNTRI Note, which must be presented upon arrival in Malaysia.

 

• eNTRI facility are available from January 1st, 2020 until December 31st 2020 for all PRC passport holder tourists who are residing in People’s Republic of China (including Hong Kong and Macau).

 

• Applicants with direct flight from People’s Republic of China (including Hong Kong and Macau) or enter and exit Malaysia via Singapore, Thailand or Brunei via the following options:

 

By Air

1. Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Sepang (KLIA & KLIA 2)

2. Penang International Airport, Penang

3. Langkawi International Airport, Kedah

4. Melaka International Airport, Melaka

5. Senai International Airport, Johor

• Applicants with flights from Taiwan and other than the above options and departing from other countries into Malaysia are not permitted.

 

 

What are the documents needed upon arrival at Malaysian entry checkpoints?

This following documents are required to be presented upon arrival in Malaysia entry checkpoints: • eNTRI printout • Boarding pass • Sufficient funds (Cash/Debit or Credit Cards with UnionPay logo/Travellers Cheque) • Confirmed returned flight tickets
