MUTUAL VISA EXEMPTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN MALAYSIA AND CHINA COMES INTO FORCE ON 17 JULY 2025

The Government of Malaysia wishes to announce that the Agreement between The Government of Malaysia and The Government of The People’s Republic of China (PRC) on Mutual Visa Exemption for holders of Ordinary Passports (for Malaysia) and holders of Public Affairs and Ordinary Passports (for PRC) has officially comes into force on 17 July 2025.

Under this Agreement, Malaysian citizens holding valid Ordinary Passports and PRC citizens holding valid Public Affairs and Ordinary Passports are allowed to enter, exit, or transit through the territory of the other Contracting Party without the need for a visa, subject to the following conditions:

the maximum duration of each visit shall not exceed 30 days;
-
the cumulative period of stay shall not exceed 90 days within any 180 days period; and
-
the visa exemption facility applies to visits for the purposes of tourism/vacation, visiting family and friends, business, cultural exchange and bilateral cooperation, private matters, medical treatment, and international transit (including air crew members).

Those who intend to stay in the territory of the other Contracting Party for a period of more than 30 days or to reside or engage in employment, study, media activities, or other activities which require prior approval from the competent authorities of the Contracting Party, shall apply for an appropriate visa before entering the territory of the Contracting Party.
Chinese passport holders must meet the following requirements and present the necessary documentation during security and immigration screenings at the port of entry:

Passport Validity: The passport must be valid for at least six (6) months;

Return Tickets: Confirmed return flight tickets are required;
-
Accommodation: Proof of hotel booking or other accommodation arrangements during the stay;
-
Financial Proof: Evidence of sufficient funds to support the visit; and
-
Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC): Completion and submission of the MDAC online at least three (3) days before the arrival date via the official website: https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main.

马来西亚与中国之间的相互免签协议将于2025年7月17日生效。

马来西亚政府希望宣布,《马来西亚政府与中华人民共和国政府关于普通护照持有者(适用于马来西亚)及公务和普通护照持有者(适用于中国)相互免签的协议》已于2025年7月17日正式生效。
2. 根据本协议,持有有效普通护照的马来西亚公民和持有有效公务和普通护照的中国公民,在符合以下条件的情况下,无需签证即可在另一缔约方的领土内入境、出境或中转:
(a) 每段访问的最长时限不得超过30天;
(b) 在任何180天周期内,累计停留时间不得超过90天;且
(c) 签证豁免机制适用于旅游/度假、探访亲友、商务、文化交流和双边合作、私人事务、医疗以及国际中转(包括机组人员)等目的的访问。
3. 那些打算在另一缔约方的领土内停留超过30天,或居住或从事需要获得缔约方主管机构事先批准的工作、学习、媒体活动或其他活动的人,应在进入缔约方领土之前申请相应的签证。
中国护照持有者必须满足以下要求,并在入境口岸的安全和移民检查期间出示必要的文件:

护照:护照有效期必须至少为六(6)个月;

返程机票:需要确认的返程机票;
-
住宿:逗留期间的酒店预订或其他住宿证明;
-
财务证明:有足够的资金支持此次访问的证明;
-
马来西亚数字入境卡 (MDAC):
在抵达日期前三 (3) 天内通过官方网站填写并提交
