History
The Embassy of Malaysia in the State of Kuwait was established on 30 May 1974. The Embassy was first located at the Sheraton Hotel before moving to rented premises in Nuzha, Mansouriya, Surra and finally moving to its own complex in Daiya Diplomatic Enclave in 2003.



The construction of the complex of the Embassy of Malaysia in Kuwait started on 10 February 2001 on a 4,000 square metre plot. The complex, located at Plot No.5, Yemen Street, Diplomatic Area, Block 5, Daiya, Kuwait City consists of two separate buildings, namely the Chancery building and the Official Residence of the Ambassador or Rumah Malaysia. The construction of the Embassy was completed on 28 December 2002 and it was fully operational by 5 January 2003. The design of the complex is a mix of local and Malaysian architecture, to reflect the cordial relations between Malaysia and Kuwait.

The Malaysians in Kuwait are a close-knit community and most of them are professionals in different fields ranging from engineers to doctors. There are currently 10 Malaysian students in Kuwait pursing the Arabic Language course and religious studies. The Malaysian Association of Kuwait (MAK) collaborates with the Embassy in organizing activities as well as to help maintain close contacts with all Malaysians in the country. Currently, there are approximately more than 300 registered Malaysians living in Kuwait as of 2025.
