PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION OF MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT

 

The Malaysian International Passport is a valid travel document issued by the Malaysian Government for the purpose of travelling abroad. The 48 pages passport is valid for five years.

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS TO PRODUCE FOR PASSPORT APPLICATION 

  1. Original and photocopy of Singapore PR Identity Card/ Employment Pass/ Dependent Pass/ 'S' Pass/ Work Permit/ Student Pass/ Long Term Pass as proof of residing in Singapore. 
  2. Current International or Restricted Passport if available.
  3. Holders of Temporary Identity Card JPN.KPPK 09 need to produce their Birth Certificate or Citizenship Certificate during application.
  4. Holders of Temporary Identity Card JPN.KPPK 11 have to be certified by the National Registration Department and need to produce their Birth Certificate or Citizenship Certificate during application.
  5. Malaysian parents who have renounced their Malaysian Citizenship are required to bring citizenship renunciation form (Borang K) and their Singapore Identity Card.

 

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS FOR LOST PASSPORT APPLICATION

  1. Statutory Declarations (Service available at Consular Division, High Commission of Malaysia)
  2. Police Report (Translation or Emergency Certificate, if any)
  3. Recent colour passport size photograph (White background, Size: 35 mm x 50 mm, Polaroid photo is not accepted)
  4. International / Restricted Passport (Copy)
  5. Form IM.42 to be duly complete

PROCESSING PERIOD

Five working days after the submission date.

 

 

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS FOR PASSPORT APPLICATION (SABAH / SARAWAK ORIGIN)

  1. Parent’s birth certificate
  2. Parent’s marriage certificate
  3. Parent’s passports

PROCESSING PERIOD

Approximately two months. Application will be sent to Immigration Offices, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah / Kuching, Sarawak, for processing and approval.

 

 

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS FOR CHANGE OF NAME IN THE MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT

  1. Covering letter, briefly stating reason for change of name.
  2. Approval letter on the change of / additional name obtained from the Identity Card Division, National Registration Department, Putrajaya.
  3. Covering letter, briefly stating reason for change of name.
  4. Copy of Malaysian Identity Card (IC) / Temporary IC KPPK 09.
  5. Copy of birth certificate Copy of Statutory Declarations for declaring on the change of name.    (Service available at Consular Division, High Commission of Malaysia)
  6. Other relevant documents, such as the marriage certificate, certificate of baptism, certificate of religious conversion etc. (where applicable).

 * All documents are to be produced in original and photocopy upon submission.

** Please be advised that for children below 4 years old are encouraged to bring along two pieces of photograph with white background. (Size 35mm x 50mm).

 

 

PRESENCE OF APPLICANT

  • Applicant above 18 years has to be present for submission and collection of passport.
  • Applicant below 18 years has to be present for submission and collection of passport. and accompanied by one of their Malaysian parents.
  • Applicant below 2 years need not be present for passport collection. The passport can be collected by one of their Malaysian parents.

 

SUBMISSION AND COLLECTION HOURS (MONDAY - THURSDAY) 

Submission        : 8.00 a.m. - 12.00 p.m

Collection Day    : Two working days after the submission date.

Collection Time   : 2.30 p.m. - 4.00 p.m.

Submission        : 8.00 a.m. - 11.30 a.m

Collection Day    : Three working days after the submission date.

Collection Time   : 2.30 p.m. - 4.00 p.m.

 

SPECIAL QUEUE NUMBER

For senior citizen, pregnant woman, disabled person and new born baby only.

 

PASSPORT FEES

RM 200.00 - Adult (13-59 years old)

 

SPECIAL FEES

RM 100.00 - Children below 13 years old

RM 100.00 - Senior Citizen 60 years old and above

GENERAL STATEMENT

 

  • The use of the word of ‘anak lelaki’ (AL) and ‘anak perempuan (AP) for Indian and non-muslims citizens on the main page has been repealed but disclosed in the ‘OBSERVATIONS’ page.
  • If the applicant is under the age of 18 years, his/her parents Malaysian Identity Card is required.
  • Malaysian passport unclaimed after three months from the date specified in the receipt of payment wil be fortified and disposed of. The applicant must submit a new application and it wll be processed accordingly including payment.
  • Particulars of children (including newborns) will no longer be included in the parent’s passport. The child will be issued a separate passport. A change of photograph for children two years and above can be made. Submit two recent photographs and birth certificate (original and a copy). The applicant and his/her children must appear before the Immigration officer.
  • Under the Guardianship Act 1961 – Amendment (1999), consent can be given by the mother for the child under 18 years old.
  • Passports reported lost and rediscovered is not valid and the information will be forwarded to INTERPOL
