Passport Application Guidelines
Important Information
The Malaysian International Passport is a valid travel document issued by the Malaysian Government for the purpose of traveling abroad. Malaysians residing overseas may apply for a new International Passport at any Malaysian Mission on the conditions:-
- Holds a valid Malaysian International Passport
- Return to Malaysia at least once every five years (not mandatory)
- Submit application 6 months prior to expiration date
- Failure to comply with the requirement will delay the process
- The Consulate General shall not be held responsible for any delays affecting you application or travel arrangement

(Applicants above 12 years old and below 60 years old)

MALAYSIAN INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPH SPECIFICATION

Photograph Requirements
- Three (3) recent identical U.S. passport-sized photographs (2x2 inches)
- Clear white background with no shadows
- No dangling earrings
- No hair accessories
- No eyelash extensions
- No glasses / contact lens
- Dark-colored clothing covering shoulders and chest
- Ears and eyebrows must be fully visible
- Hair must not cover the forehead
- Full-face view, directly facing the camera with a neutral facial expression
- Both eyes open and mouth closed (no teeth showing)
- No hats or head coverings that obscure hair or hairline, unless worn daily for religious purposes
- Full face must remain visible
- Head covering must not cast shadows on the face
- Ensure sufficient space above the head (do not crop too closely to the hairline)
- Photographs must be of good quality (not blurry)
- (For men) No earrings, necklace, or any accessories
