1. | All Visitors MUST ENTER Malaysia through Airports only. | |
2. | Visitors MUST obtain Visa Without Reference or Visa With Reference at the nearest Malaysian Embassies / Consulates before entering Malaysia. | |
3. | The period of stay approved will be based on the period required to achieve the purpose of the visit as a government sponsored visitor or guest. Proof of sponsorship or invitation as a guest of the Government should be produced to the Immigration Officer at the point of entry. | |
4. | i- Conditions for Visa Without Reference (VWTR): | |
| a) | Posses confirm air ticket back to country of origin or current residing country or posses visa and confirm air ticket to country of onward destination. |
| b) | Visitors will be given a maximum 14 days stay with no extension allowed or much shorter period of stay for those who are on transit before continuing their onward journey. |

| ii- Conditions for Visa With Reference (VWR): | |
| a) | This visa is issued for those traveling on business or investment only. |
| b) | Trip MUST be sponsored by a local high level individual or a local business company which invites them to Malaysia (the sponsoring company need to be well established and is required to submit copies of Form 9, 24 and 49 to the Immigration Department of Malaysia). |
| c) | The sponsor MUST deposit RM 2000.00 per person to the Immigration Department of Malaysia as a security deposit. |
| d) | Visitors will be given a maximum 30 days of stay with no extension allowed. |

5. | Extension of Social/Business pass is not allowed unless approved by the Director General or Deputy Director General of the Immigration Department of Malaysia. |

For Applicants with Travel Documents
Please note that the requirements below are also applicable to passport holders who have been instructed by Immigration Malaysia to obtain a single-entry visa (SEV).

ORIGINAL PASSPORT/TRAVEL DOCUMENT (must be valid for more than six (6) months before the date of departure from Malaysia)

NOTARIZED LETTER OF EMPLOYMENT (issued from employer)(if applicable)

FOR STUDENTS: NOTARIZED LETTER OF ENROLMENT AND STUDENT ID (issued by universities/colleges)

LETTER OF INVITATION and proof of ID from the relative or friend in Malaysia, giving their complete address and telephone number. (if applicable)

A self-addressed prepaid envelope to cover the return of your documents by (Xpresspost envelope) is available at Canada Post. Please ensure that you retain your tracking number for your record so that you can verify the location and time of delivery of your documents. (if applicable)
Note: our office bears no responsibility for any loss or damages to your passport/travel document by the local postal service.
Relevant documents (above) must be scanned and emailed first to mwottawa@kln.gov.my for initial review. Once sufficient, the application will be reviewed by Immigration Malaysia. Upon approval, applicants will be instructed to submit hard copies of the above documents to the High Commission of Malaysia.

Updated: Visa Liberalisation Plan (1 December 2023)
Starting 1 December 2023, Immigration Department of Malaysia introduced Visa Liberalisation Plan. Kindly refer to this link:
Effective 1 January 2024, all foreign travellers to Malaysia are required to complete a Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC).
This online pre-arrival form can be filled out up to three days before your scheduled arrival in Malaysia. Travellers must present a valid passport and a completed MDAC to border officers for validation before proceeding through the immigration counter.
